The highly coveted award recognizes the design excellence and product quality of the Roborock-made products.
In the recently concluded iF Design Awards 2017, Xiaomi has won awards for a total of 7 products, among them the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner. This award-winning robot vacuum cleaner launched in 2016 was developed by Roborock, a Xiaomi Ecosystem Enterprise.
Among the product features highlighted by iF Design Awards include the Intelligent Route Planning System, which is made up of the Laser Distancing Technology (LDS) and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), the suction rating of 1,800 Pa as well as the streamlined air passage design. The vibrant red on core elements such as the LDS and brush roll were also mentioned.
Reflecting a simple and uncluttered design philosophy, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner boldly adopted a dual-layered circular visual concept, with only two buttons on the body of the robot vacuum. The use of a pure white shell is a deliberate choice made to stand out from others in the space, with a complementary color to both call attention to the design and fit in with a thoughtfully decorated home.

Recognized as one of the most esteemed design competitions in the world, the iF Design Award is widely seen as a testimony of a product’s excellence. Products are honored based on aspects such as functionality, aesthetics, and positioning, among others. This year, the selection of award-winning products was made by some 60 juries from over 20 countries, with over 5,500 products evaluated in total.
